I Am SO Happy Right Now!
October 26, 2007
I got to talk to my girls! At least half of them. I got into a funk this evening because I missed them so much. I need to get a International plan for Kenya. I am not looking forward to the bill! But I got to talk to them!!! I’m a happy girl and I have a huge smile on my face. A big $$$ price but SSOOOOOO worth it!
Here is the last photo My Winnie and I took together. This is my favorite! It’s my desktop picture!
That is so cool that you got to talk to Winnie! You can tell you have a strong connection. I am happy for you too!
All the lovely Immigrants I know here in NYC use calling cards purchased over the counter to call home. It must be the cheapest way to do it, or else they’d be doing something else. From what I hear different cards work better with different countries. I’ll ask my co-worker Jane what she uses to call home in Africa & report back. She’s not from Kenya, but perhaps she’ll get you in the ballpark.
What a gorgeous picture Rocky!
Thank you for sharing your journey…I have a feeling this will be a lifelong journey for you and for the girls like Winnie whom you have loved and touched in so many ways. Now it is time for me to find out how I can help! If you read this send me an email. Diane
Rocky, this picture is beautiful – and what an amazing trip you have had, best of all what an amazing difference you’ve made to the girls of St. Monica’s.
I have a question – have you ever heard of British Robinson? I heard her speak this Sunday, she has done a lot of work with the Jesuits in Africa, and works for the State Department. She might be a good contact – let me know if you would like her contact info.
Welcome back – and congratulations for a job well done.
That photo just puts a big grin on my face.
Rocky, am sure your Winnie is still waiting for your come back.
